Judge Rules Against Donald Sterling, Who Will Lose The Clippers
Donald Sterling's ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers was finally wrested away from him thanks to a judge's ruling on Sterling's lawsuit against his wife, Shelly, which was meant to block the sale of the Clippers to Steve Ballmer. The judge ruled a clean sweep in favor of Shelly Sterling, and the sale of the team may now proceed.
The Orange County Register's Dan Woike provided a play-by-play of the ruling from the courtroom:
So there you go. Steve Ballmer gets his team, the NBA gets to rid itself of its most odious and despicable owner, and Donald Sterling reluctantly cashes out with $2 billion. We'd like to say that this is the last we'll be hearing from Donald Sterling, but he has so far shown a Freddy Kruger-like ability to never go away.
