Just A Couple Of The Death Threats Clay Travis Is Getting For Reporting On Alabama
Over at his new site, Clay Travis has been hammering away at a mini-scandal that sees Alabama players seemingly signing memorabilia in exchange for menswear, and the store owner later selling said memorabilia. It's like OSU's tattoo parlor, but with suits.
In the grand scheme of things, it's a probably-common violation of an illogical NCAA regulation — it's clearly not the end of the world. But Tide fans are having trouble keeping things in perspective. To Clay's mailbag!
"Clay, your back is unwatched and should be coated in Kevlar."
"let me tell you one thing clay, you sun of a bitch.best thing for you to do is keep your f——- mouth shut....you worthless pile of s—-.i know you live in nashville .pray i don`t find you...."
Stuff like that. People have even been kind enough to leave their phone numbers.
If you ask any writer who's been online long enough, they'll say they've gotten physical threats. Anonymity tends to breed it. But they'll also say, almost without exception, that the threats only come for college football stories. Which is a roundabout way of saying we're really glad the NFL's back, because we weren't prepared for the SEC to dominate the national sports scene for four months.
