Former Michigan point guard Dug McDaniel indicated Wednesday that he has transferred to Kansas State.

The school announced his addition later in the day.

McDaniel revealed his decision in a social media video that displayed him in Kansas State clothing. He was considered one of the top players in the transfer portal.

McDaniel led the Wolverines in scoring (16.3 points per game), assists per game (4.7), 3-point baskets (56) and steals (29) in 26 games (all starts) this season as a sophomore.

The 5-foot-11 McDaniel's decision to transfer came after the Wolverines went 8-24 in 2023-24, including nine straight losses to end the season. Coach Juwan Howard was dismissed after the poor campaign.

McDaniel missed six road games due to a suspension tied to academic performance.

McDaniel averaged 8.6 points in 34 games (26 starts) as a freshman before nearly doubling his scoring average this season.
