KCAL Went Live To The Kings' Stanley Cup Celebration Just In Time For Jonathan Quick To Say "Fuck" Several Times
Jonathan Quick was too fast for TV censors today as the goalie's speech at the L.A. Kings' Stanley Cup celebration in Staples Center featured at least three instances of "fuck."
Despite this, KCAL stuck with Quick's presentation for several minutes, apologizing after "if anyone who was offended," which is of course not an apology at all—not that one is necessary anyway. That having been said, mid-afternoon isn't exactly the time broadcasters want to be airing obscene language; it's exactly that sort of instance that earned Fox a mega-fine from the Bush era FCC, a penalty that's currently sitting before the Supreme Court.
