It's been a rough day and a half for Kendrick Perkins. First, on a Thursday night when the locked-out Oklahoma City Thunder big man was slated to host former Celtics teammate Rajon Rondo "at an autograph signing at the Mid County Chick-Fil-A restaurant ... to help raise money for the Port Arthur Lincoln Alumni Organization," he ends up hospitalized with "dehydration."
Then, the celebrity exhibition game scheduled at his basketball camp was cancelled and he skipped the camp-ending banquet last night. Now comes word that Perkins was arrested in Beaumont early this morning on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Conflicting reports say Stephen Jackson of the Bucks either was or wasn't arrested, too.
Some accounts involve a fight with Perkins, Jackson and old teammate Rajon Rondo. The group, along with Eric Maynor and Kevin Durant, were all in town for Perkins' basketball camp and celebrity game. However, the celebrity game was cancelled after Perkins reportedly had an incident in Jackson's Port Arthur home late Thursday.
According to reports, a "27-year-old male" was taken from Jackson's home via ambulance to a hospital (Perkins is a 27-year-old male). He was treated for "minor injuries" and released. A spokesman for Perkins said that the Thunder center was suffering from dehydration and was told to rest.
All the details are very sketchy and there's no real known facts at this point.
From a non-sketchy perspective, Perkins already posted his $251 bail.
