Yes, you have heard the name Monica Wright before, because you have seen Love and Basketball and now it's dawning on you that Kevin Durant is marrying a WNBA player who shares her name with the lead character from a movie about love and basketball and oh my god isn't that so fucking adorable?
Wright, who plays for the Minnesota Lynx, confirmed the engagement after her game against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday night. Durant and Wright have been close friends since 2006, when they met at the McDonald's All-American game. A longtime friendship blossoming into love? Could this story get any cuter?
