Kris Humphries Shatters Backboard, Ends Practice Early
Photo Credit: Sean M. Haffey/ [object Object] The simplest way to get out of something you don’t want to do is to create an excuse centered on yourself: you’re sick, your grandmother died, etc. The most effective way to get out of something you don’t want to do is to ruin that something entirely: why sit on the bleachers with a feigned headache when you just can burn down the gym?
I have no idea if Kris Humphries of the Atlanta Hawks wanted to be at practice this afternoon. But he got out of it regardless by shattering the backboard with a dunk and cutting the afternoon short.
The Hawks were practicing in a Santa Monica high school gym to prepare for tomorrow’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. They will pay the high school for the damages, the full extent of which is worse than in the above picture. Following Humphries’s dunk, the team got together to make sure the backboard was really and truly dead. From Malcolm Delaney’s Instagram:
Humphries says he is still washing glass out of his hair. At least he has a free afternoon to do it.
