Lawrence Taylor Meets Ron Mexico
This image was lost some time after publication. We've written about this a couple of times, but now that the game's almost out, we feel obliged to point it out again: The great Ron Mexico — or Mike Mexico — returns in Blitz: The League, essentially the video game version of "Playmakers," the ESPN show in which every player was either a drug addict, a steroid freak, sucking down Veuve Clicquot at 4 a.m. with Snoop Dogg or gay.
A player with Vick's characteristics, with the name Mike Mexico, appears in "Blitz," which comes out two weeks from today. It's "sponsored" by everybody's favorite teetering-on-the-edge-of-madness-and-loving-it Lawrence Taylor, on whom the game's main character is based. Needless to say, he's very excited about the game. "It s rated 'M' for mature, so it s not like the NFL product, which is rated 'E' (for everyone)," he tells SportsBusiness Journal. "And to sit there and say, 'Well, you know, these things don t go on,' then it should be rated 'S' for stupid, because shit happens."
