Liverpool Fans Will Absolutely Love Philippe Coutinho's First Barcelona Goal
Photo credit: Alberto Saiz/ [object Object] Because soccer fans are a famously circumspect, magnanimous, and selfless bunch, they often continue to wish the best for players that once represented their beloved clubs but have since moved on to pastures new. Hence why Liverpool fans have to be downright brimming with pride and delight after seeing former Red Philippe Coutinho finally breaking his duck with new team Barcelona, getting on the score sheet thanks to an assist from fellow former Red Luis Suárez:
Both of these South American geniuses became bona fide superstars at Liverpool before making their dream jumps to Barcelona where they could play with the best of the best and win trophies. Coutinho’s goal helped send Barça through to the Copa del Rey final for which they’ll be big favorites, which will most likely be one of at least two trophies his new team will win this season since La Liga is all but wrapped up for the Blaugrana boys as well. Luckily Liverpool fans are in no way petty and will certainly regard Coutinho’s and Suárez’s trophy hauls—something the two good friends never achieved in England—with lots of vicarious enjoyment and not a trace of saltiness.
