Los Angeles Rams cornerback Troy Hill was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence early Saturday morning.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Hill was driving his Mercedes Benz on a local freeway when he rear-ended a big rig. Police officers that arrived at the accident determined Hill was under the influence and arrested him for DUI. He was released from jail Saturday afternoon after posting bail of $15,000, and the Rams have said they will deactivate him for tomorrow’s game against the Miami Dolphis.
Local media reports did not say whether or not Hill took a breathalyzer test. Representatives of the California Highway Patrol could not be reached by phone Saturday evening. The Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s online record shows Hill’s arrest but does not specify the charge; a phone call to the jail that booked Hill was passed along to the police department’s closed media relations office.
While in college at Oregon, Hill was suspended from the football team after being arrested on charges of menacing and fourth-degree assault, including strangulation of a woman he was dating. He was reinstated with the team after pleading guilty to lesser charges in 2014.
