LSU-Florida Game Called Off Due To Hurricane Matthew
Photo: Phelan M. Ebenhack/ [object Object] Saturday’s college football game in Gainesville, Fla. between LSU and Florida has been canceled, with Hurricane Matthew expected to hit the state this weekend.
LSU Football originally tweeted that the game was “canceled and won’t be rescheduled,” but deleted the tweet and issued a correction:
According to the release, the SEC and schools will attempt to reschedule the game later in the season. The Tigers floated the idea of hosting the game in Louisiana, but that option didn’t go anywhere.
Mark Long of the Associated Press predicted that Nov. 19 might be the makeup date. LSU is currently scheduled to play South Alabama that day; Florida is slated to play Presbyterian.
