LSU Pitcher Rips Two-Out, Two-Run, 12th-Inning Double In First Collegiate At-Bat
Boy, that’s a lot of hyphens. LSU sophomore pitcher Todd Peterson crushed a 12th-inning double that drove in what proved to be the winning runs in his very first collegiate at-bat tonight against South Carolina at the SEC tournament.
Peterson was forced to the plate after an earlier Tigers pitcher left the mound but stayed in the game at DH, then surrendered that spot in the batting order by heading out to play the field. His double put LSU up 6-3; the runs held up after the Gamecocks managed to put another run on the board in the bottom of the 12th, but no more.
