Billy Turner, 46, has been charged with the killing. His arrest comes one month after Memphis police found a gun believed to be the murder weapon in a Mississippi lake. Turner does not yet have a court date.
Wright attended the University of Memphis, and he was picked seventh overall in the 1996 NBA Draft. He played in the NBA until 2009.
We reached out to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for any available records related to the arrest, and will update if they respond.
