Marcus Johansson Leaves Game After Brutal Hit By Kris Letang

The calls for suspension rang out during the first intermission of tonight’s Capitals-Penguins Game 3 as Kris Letang knocked Marcus Johansson out of the game with a brutal hit.

Officials only assessed Letang a minor penalty, but the violence of the hit is enough to suggest the Pittsburgh defenseman might be missing the next few games of this series.

Update (9:48 p.m.): Johansson returned to the game, which in the impeccable NHL logic suggests Letang will avoid further punishment.
