Mariners Announcer's Brain Breaks In The Middle Of Home Run Call
Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager had a huge game last night, smashing two triples, a double, and a three-run home run in five at-bats against the Yankees. The only blemish on Seager's big night was play-by-play man Dave Sims's call on the homer.
Things started off OK—"There's a drive, deep right field! Say goodbye!"—before quickly devolving into senseless stammering: "Hey Lloyd! Do some—delivery—for the truck...to the airport. A three-run jack by Seager."
Not exactly sure where Sims was trying to go with that one, but here's hoping this becomes his signature call. "And that's 14 strikeouts for Felix Hernandez! Hey Lloyd..."
