Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez left Wednesday's road game against the Detroit Tigers in the eighth inning for a pinch runner after he appeared to aggravate a right ankle injury.
Rodriguez grimaced after getting out of the way of an inside pitch from reliever Will Vest. He was able to bloop a bases-loaded RBI single before departing.
Rodriguez came off the 10-day injured list on Sunday after he recovered from a high right ankle sprain that occurred July 21 against the Houston Astros. He has been serving as the designated hitter since his return.
Rodriguez had two hits in Wednesday's game and has three hits in the three games since he returned.
