The Seattle Mariners placed left-hander Gabe Speier on the 15-day injured list on Saturday because of a left rotator cuff strain.

The move is retroactive to Thursday. In a corresponding move, the Mariners recalled right-hander Collin Snider from Triple-A Tacoma.

Speier, 29, last pitched on Wednesday, recording one strikeout in two-thirds of a scoreless inning against the Houston Astros. This season, he is 0-2 with a 6.06 ERA, 10 walks and 22 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings over 22 relief appearances.

Snider, 28, has a 6.00 ERA in three innings over three relief appearances for Seattle. He served 15 days on the injured list after being hit on his left knee by a line drive on April 7 at Milwaukee.

He has pitched in 65 games (one start) over parts of three seasons with the Kansas City Royals (2022-23) and Seattle, and is 4-2 with one save, a 5.93 ERA, 29 walks and 35 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings.
