Mark Scheifele scored a goal and had two assists and Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves to lead the host Winnipeg Jets to a 4-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist and Alex Iafallo and Cole Perfetti also scored goals for Winnipeg (30-29-12, 72 points), which snapped a five-game home losing streak to the Golden Knights. Scheifele, playing in his 950th career NHL game, also picked up a five-minute fighting major near the end of the second period for a bout with Brett Howden to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick.

Colton Sissons scored a goal and Adin Hill finished with 17 saves for Vegas (32-26-14, 78 points), which lost for the fourth time in the last five games.

Vegas held the Jets without a shot on goal over the first 9:59 of the game but still ended up trailing, 1-0, after the first period when Connor one-timed a Josh Morrissey cross-ice pass from the middle of the right circle past Hill's blocker side and inside the far left post.

Iafallo made it 2-0 early in the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle short-side. Perfetti followed at the 4:06 mark, tapping in a saucer pass from Gabe Vilardi inside the left post at the end of a 3-on-1 break. It marked Winnipeg's third goal on four shots.

Vegas cut it to 3-1 midway through the second period on a power-play goal by Sissons, who redirected a Rasmus Andersson pass toward the front of the net through Hellebuyck's pads.

The Golden Knights pulled Hill for an extra attacker with 4:18 to go after Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg picked up a high-sticking penalty for a 6-on-4 power play but managed just one shot on goal. Scheifele then sealed the win with an empty-netter with 1:18 remaining.
