Marquette G Zaide Lowery no longer with program

The 6-foot-5 junior started the first nine games of the season before being replaced by freshman Adrien Stevens. He did not play in the Dec. 17 loss to Georgetown of the Dec. 20 loss at Creighton.
"I would like to thank Zaide for his many contributions to our program over the last two and a half years," Marquette coach Shaka Smart said in a statement released by the school. "We wish him the best in all of his future pursuits on and off the court."
Lowery averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 11 games (nine starts) this season. He shot just 37.1% from the field and 29.5% from 3-point distance (13 of 44).
Over three seasons with the Golden Eagles, Lowery averaged 3.6 points and 14.2 minutes in 73 games (nine starts).
Marquette (5-8, 0-2 Big East) takes a four-game losing streak into Tuesday's home game against Seton Hall (11-2, 1-1).
