Matt Moore's No-Hitter Broken Up With One Out To Go
Photo credit: Stephen Dunn/ [object Object] Matt Moore, who was traded to the Giants earlier this month from the Tampa Bay Rays, took a no-hit bid as close as he possibly could before it got dashed at the last second. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Corey Seager sent a flare into right field on Moore’s 133rd pitch. It landed squarely between Gorkys Hernandez and Joe Panik for a single.
Dodgers fans were thrilled, and had some profane words for poor Matt Moore.
That’s a shit way to lose a no-hitter bid, especially since it was on the road against hated rivals. The Giants won, but under the circumstances, it had to feel like a pretty goddamn terrible win.
