Matt Scott Barfed Then Threw A Touchdown
We are aggressively apathetic toward the results and performances in NFL preseason games, instead relying on weird stuff, sometimes including players doing unlikely things with bodily fluids, to make the news. Like Bengals QB Matt Scott puking his guts out a couple of times, then immediately throwing a touchdown pass.
Scott let fly with about a minute left in the game, before lining back up in the shotgun and tossing a 12-yard score to Conner Vernon.
Nervousness? Maybe. Scott, undrafted in 2013 out of Arizona, spent last season on the Jaguars' practice squad, so he doesn't have a ton of pro action under his belt. But he also has a thing about barfing during games. Our "Matt Scott vomiting" tag is a healthy one, though last night's didn't appear to be due to a head injury like the others.
Scott is a long shot to make this team. He's fourth on the depth chart behind Andy Dalton, Jason Campbell, and A.J. McCarron. But last night couldn't have hurt his chances—he was 7 of 11 for 66 yards and two scores, and watched Campbell leave with an apparent elbow injury (while McCarron has yet to practice in camp thanks to mysterious elbow soreness).
