Media Approval Ratings: Tim Kurkjian

For the longest time, we thought the way Tim Kurkjian would pronounce his last name while signing off on ESPN telecasts was some sort of sonic illusion. "Tim KIRK ... (endless pause) ... JUN!, ESPN." We couldn't imagine he answered the phone like that at home.

Apparently, though, the syllable break matters. Alas. Another fun Tim Kurkjian moment: His extreme, giddy excitement when the Rangers scored 30 runs last year. And of course the time he made it clear that Derek Jeter had "a rugged face, a handsome face."
