Messi Invited 150 Journalists To His Wedding This Weekend
Photo: Philipp Schmidli/ [object Object] Lionel Messi is getting married to his longtime partner and the mother of his two children, Antonella Roccuzzo, on Friday in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina. The wedding is every bit the lavish extravaganza you’d expect from the rich and famous, and Messi and co. have ensured the event will be duly covered.
According to Sport, approximately 150 people from the media are accredited to attend the wedding. The report said the press will be located in a hall of the enormous City Center Rosario complex where the entire wedding and reception will be held. And, per Diario AS, a big screen will be erected outside the venue to stream the event to fans.
All of Messi’s Barcelona first-squad teammates were invited, per ESPNFC:
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez have international commitments, while others have other reasons for not attending. Andres Iniesta, for example, excused himself following the recent birth of his third child.
Luis Suarez and Neymar will be there, though, and Gerard Pique and partner Shakira are also expected to be present, although it’s not been confirmed.
Jordi Alba, Carles Puyol, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi, and Samuel Eto’o are also attending.
There will probably be some family members and non-famous friends attending too, but who cares about them.
