Messi Stunned A Reporter By Revealing He Kept A Good Luck Charm From The Reporter's Mom
Lionel Messi shocked a reporter by revealing that he had not only kept a good luck charm the reporter had given him, but that he had worn it during Argentina’s 2-1 win over Nigeria, which allowed Argentina to advance out of the group stage of the World Cup.
After Argentina drew against Iceland on June 16, Argentinian reporter Rama Pantorotto told Messi that he carried a red ribbon from his mother as a token of good luck and that Messi could have it. Pantorotto told a smiling Messi to take good care of it.
After the win over Nigeria, Pantorotto asked Messi about the ribbon, wondering if he still had it or if he had thrown it away.
“Look,” Messi said, pulling down his sock to reveal the ribbon that had been in his shoe.
