Mets place RHP Reed Garrett (elbow) on injured list

The New York Mets placed reliever Reed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow strain.
The move is retroactive to Monday for the 32-year-old right-hander, whose season will end with a 3-6 record and a 3.90 ERA and three saves in 58 appearances (one start).
The Mets made five other moves ahead of Thursday afternoon's series finale with the visiting San Diego Padres.
They placed left-hander Sean Manaea on the paternity list, designated right-hander Dom Hamel for assignment and called up three pitchers from Triple-A Syracuse: right-handers Wander Suero, Huascar Brazoban and Chris Devenski.
Suero, 34, has yet to pitch for the Mets since being claimed off waivers from Atlanta on Sept. 4. He had no decisions and an 11.37 ERA in five relief appearances for the Braves this season.
