Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports Micah Peavy became the third player in TCU history to achieve a triple-double, leading the Horned Frogs to a 79-59 victory over Arizona State on Saturday night at Fort Worth, Texas.
Peavy finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, and Emmanuel Miller scored a team-high 18 points.
TCU's other triple-doubles were by Kurt Thomas (23 points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks against Texas A&M in 1994-95) and Kenrich Williams (11 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists against Richmond in 2016-17).
Arizona State guard Adam Miller, playing his first game of the season, led the Sun Devils with 20 points.
Adam Miller, formerly of Illinois and LSU, initially wasn't allowed to play this season by the NCAA due to being a second-time undergraduate transfer.
He applied for a waiver from the NCAA citing his mental-health condition at LSU, but the NCAA denied the appeal.
A federal judge issued a 14-day temporary restraining order Wednesday, allowing Miller to be eligible to play against TCU.
The Horned Frogs (8-1) went on a game-turning 16-0 run in the second half that included technical fouls by Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley and forward Alonzo Gaffney with 13:25 left.
Gaffney was assessed his technical foul while he was on the bench. That gave him his fifth foul, resulting in his disqualification from the game.
The technical foul occurred seven seconds after his teammate Bryant Selebangue made a contested layup to give Arizona State (6-4) a 38-37 lead.
Hurley was then given a technical foul for complaining about the call on Gaffney.
Hurley had to be restrained by his assistant coaches and some players.
Emmanuel Miller made all four of the free throw attempts from the technical fouls, putting TCU ahead 41-38.
Peavy hit a 3-pointer on TCU's following possession to give the Horned Frogs seven points in 11 seconds.
The 16-0 run concluded with 11:21 remaining, after Emmanuel Miller made two free throws to give TCU a 53-38 lead.
Arizona State led 30-26 at halftime after leading by as many as 14 points.
Adam Miller had half of ASU's points (15) at that point on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
TCU scored the first nine points of the second half to take a 35-30 lead with 17:29 remaining.
