Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images Michael Amadio continued his hot streak, netting the go-ahead goal for the Ottawa Senators in a 5-2 road win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
Amadio finished with a goal and an assist while newcomer Dylan Cozens also tallied a key goal for Ottawa, which has won four games in a row and five out of six (5-0-1). Brady Tkachuk, Tyler Kleven and Shane Pinto also scored for the Senators. Jake Sanderson had two assists, and Anton Forsberg made 20 saves to earn the victory.
Jamie Drysdale and Rodrigo Abols scored for Philadelphia, which has lost the first five games of a seven-game homestand. Flyers goalie Ivan Fedotov finished with 19 saves.
Ottawa jumped onto the scoresheet just 24 seconds into the contest. Former Flyers star Claude Giroux sent a feed to the right circle for Tkachuk, whose one-timer beat Fedotov.
The teams combined for four goals in the second period, including three in the first nine minutes.
Drysdale scored his third goal this month -- he only had two goals entering March -- at the 3:05 mark, when his backhander caromed off Forsberg and trickled across the goal line.
Just over a minute later, Kleven's shot from the blue line got past Fedotov.
Philadelphia tied it about 4 1/2 minutes later as Cam York centered to Abols for a one-timer that found the back of the net.
The deadlock lasted for just over six minutes until Amadio netted the go-ahead tally. On an offensive rush, Amadio picked up a loose puck on the right side and shoveled the puck under Fedotov for his sixth goal in the last 13 games.
Prior to his hot stretch, Amadio had only scored two goals in his first 41 games this season.
Cozens added an insurance goal midway through the third period, as he capitalized on a defensive-zone turnover by Philadelphia and ripped a wrister past Fedotov.
Pinto's empty-netter in the final minute sealed the win.
