Mike Finds New Mike Named Trey
Photo via [object Object] The Mikes of ESPN’s Mike & Mike will soon split apart and become simply Mike and Mike, and reports out of Mikeville have indicated that the Mikes don’t really like each other. Both Mikes insisted that they were cool despite the rumblings and the imminent end of Mike & Mike, and now ESPN has finally said where the two Mikes are headed.
ESPN announced in May that Mike Golic (Big Mike) would partner up with ESPN vet Trey Wingo for the prime A.M. radio slot. Another release this morning announced a start date (November 27) and confirmed that Mike Greenberg (Little Mike) would start his new TV show in 2018. Mike and Mike will host their last show together on November 17, but Mike fans will not have to wait very long for the debut of Big Mike’s new show.
Fans will have a sneak-peek of Golic & Wingo when the duo host Mike & Mike this week from July 18 – July 20, while Mike Greenberg guest hosts The Michael Kay Show (3 – 7 p.m.) alongside Don La Greca on ESPN New York 98.7FM from July 17 – 20. Greenberg’s new TV show will premiere January 1, 2018.
Big Mike’s new show will be called Golic & Wingo, thus ending an almost 18-year run of Mike-themed radio programming on ESPN.
