Mike Patrick Has A Plaxidental Brain Fart On Air

ESPN play-by-play man Mike Patrick made a groan-inducing little comment during last night's Georgia/Michigan State Capital One Bowl, but does not appear to be in jeopardy of publicly apologizing for it.

Early in the second quarter, after a silly Georgia penalty, Patrick thought it appropriate to unveil this joke, which the Detroit Free Press caught in their live blog:

"Georgia is just pulling a Plaxico. They just keep shooting themselves."

Hey-oh!

According to The Big Lead, the comment was greeted with silence in the studio and the ensuing discussion "veered toward the wind". And considering the spate of trouble-making former Michigan State wideouts, there had to be a better joke available. Help him out.
