Mississippi State Recruits Enjoy Ponies And/Or Strippers

It seems that quite a few high school football recruits made their campus visit to Mississippi State this weekend and a few mentioned enjoying something called "THE PONY." You don't think they're talking about Starkville's greatest strip club, do you?

The kind of people who follow Facebook status updates of high school seniors who are also talented football players noticed a trend over the last couple days. See if you can figure it out.

"had lots of fun at State this weekend....POOONNNYYYYYYY"

"Had fun at Mississippi State this weekend......THE PONYYYYY"

"MAN WE HAD SUM FUN ET STATE BUT MY FAVORITE PART WAS WEN WE WENT TO (THE PONY) OH YEAH!!!"

Three patterns seem to emerge from this missives: State, ponies and fun being had. Now, maybe the kids spent some time riding small horses? Or maybe the Bulldogs have traded in their Nike apparel contract for one with Pony? Or perhaps the young charges were taken on a tour of the gentleman's showclub on Highway 45 (Alternate!). I'm going to give MSU the benefit of the doubt and assume that THE PONYYYY, whatever it is, was not a sanctioned school field trip and that all the gentlemen involved are 18 and older. As long as no laws were broken, it's unlikely that NCAA rules were violated. Still, parents usually aren't thrilled with this kind of behavior and "coincidences" like this don't do much to improve the reputation of college sports.

On the other hand ... POOOONNNNNYYYYYYYYWWWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Pony!
