MLB Best Bets: June 10th Top Picks, Player Props

The New York Mets return home after pulling off a three-game road sweep of the Colorado Rockies.

In the last 10 games, the Mets own a tremendous 9-1 record in the first five innings. During this stretch, they have scored at least three runs in the first five innings eight times.

The Washington Nationals have struggled in the first five innings all season in road series openers. The Nats are 1-8-1 in Game 1s away from D.C. in the opening five innings, while scoring one run or fewer in the eight losses.

Washington left-hander MacKenzie Gore hasn’t lasted through five innings in eight straight starts despite not allowing a run in his past three outings through five innings.

Mets hurler Griffin Canning is 8-4 this season in the first five innings, while yielding one run or fewer in four of six home outings.

Shane Smith Over 4.5 strikeouts (-145 at DraftKings)

The Chicago White Sox travel to the Lone Star State to begin a three-game series with the Houston Astros.

The Sox send out right-hander Shane Smith to the mound, who has gone over his strikeout prop in seven of his last eight starts.

Smith is averaging 5.6 strikeouts an outing in this stretch, including six consecutive starts of at least five strikeouts.

The Astros have struck out five times or more in seven straight games against right-handed starting pitchers.

Carson Palmquist Over 3.5 strikeouts (-120 at DraftKings)

It’s been a disastrous season for the Colorado Rockies, who sit with the worst record in baseball at 12-53. The Rockies welcome the San Francisco Giants after getting swept at home by the Mets this past weekend.

Carson Palmquist racked up two strikeouts in his first starts for Colorado but has compiled 12 Ks in his past two outings against the Cubs and Mets.

The Giants haven’t been successful against left-handed starting pitchers on the road this season. San Francisco has struck out at least six times in eight of 10 away games when facing southpaw starters.

The Giants also rank 27th in MLB with a .213 batting average against left-handed pitching this season.
