It’s been a rough weekend in South Florida for the New York Yankees, who have dropped the first two games against the surging Miami Marlins. Miami has won four in a row and is one game under .500—remarkable considering the team was 16 games under on June 11.

The Yankees blew a 6-0 lead Friday in a 13-12 loss, then were shut out 2-0 on Saturday.

The Bronx Bombers have posted an 8-2 mark when trying to avoid a sweep this season, including a 5-2 record on the road.

Right-hander Luis Gil will make his season debut for the Yankees, as the 2024 AL Rookie of the Year has been sidelined with a lat injury since spring training.

Miami counters with right-hander Edward Cabrera (4-5, 3.35 ERA), who allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of five July starts.

The Marlins are 6-11 in home-series finales this season, and this is a good buy-low spot on the Yankees on Sunday.

Rockies F5 vs. Pirates (+110 at DraftKings)

The Pittsburgh Pirates have put together a pair of collapses at Coors Field in Denver this weekend against the Colorado Rockies.

On Friday night, the Pirates led the Rockies 9-0 after the first half-inning, but Colorado stormed back for a dramatic 17-16 victory.

The Rockies fell behind Paul Skenes and the Pirates 4-0 on Saturday before rallying for an 8-5 triumph.

Pittsburgh sends right-hander Mitch Keller to the mound on Sunday. Keller (4-10, 3.69 ERA) hasn’t led on the road through five innings in his past eight starts. This season, the Pirates are 4-9-9 in Keller’s 22 outings in the first five innings.

Bradley Blalock (1-2, 7.09) has pitched well of late for the Rockies, allowing three runs in the first five innings in his past three starts.

Colorado is 4-1-1 in its past six home series finales in the first five innings as the Rockies seek their first home sweep of the season.

Dylan Cease Under 6.5 Strikeouts (-110 at DraftKings)

The San Diego Padres squandered a 4-0 lead in their Saturday 8-5 home loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, snapping a six-game winning streak.

In today’s series finale at Petco Park, right-hander Dylan Cease (3-10, 4.79 ERA) takes the mound for the Padres.

Cease has racked up at least eight strikeouts in three of his past four starts but faces a Cardinals squad that has not struck out much against starting pitchers recently.

In the past 19 games, no starting pitcher has compiled more than seven strikeouts against St. Louis, while eight of the past nine hurlers have stayed under their strikeout total.

In Cease’s most recent start against the New York Mets, he posted nine strikeouts and went over 6.5 Ks at -150. Today, the juice on the over on his strikeout prop is only -120.
