Best MLB plays today

Rangers 2B Justin Foscue Over 1.5 HRR (+104)

Astros P Peter Lambert Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+115)

Rangers 2B Justin Foscue Over 1.5 HRR (+104) - 8:05 p.m. ET

The Rangers shut out the White Sox last night, 10-0 to bounce back from a loss in the series opener. Rangers 2B Justin Foscue picked up only one hit in five at-bats, marking his eighth straight game finishing below his hits/runs/RBI prop.

However, tonight is a good opportunity to back the 27-year old as he faces Chicago southpaw Anthony Kay. Although Kay has been one of the White Sox top pitchers this season, he has struggled against right-handed batters, allowing a .278 batting average and xwOBA of .380.

Foscue is hitting a scorching .313 against left-handed pitchers and sits in the 80th percentile of xwOBA at .350. He likely will be slotted towards the top of the lineup, giving up at least two opportunities against Kay to hit this prop.

Astros P Peter Lambert Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+115) - 8:10 p.m. ET

The Marlins finished off a three-game home sweep of the Mariners on July 9 and sat at 52-42. However, Miami tries to avoid a ninth straight loss tonight and its third consecutive sweep, facing Houston.

In each of the first two wins of this series, Houston starting pitchers have struck out eight Miami batters each. Peter Lambert looks to keep that streak going tonight, as the right-hander is coming off a 10-strikeout performance against Baltimore in his last outing.

Lambert has posted 23 strikeouts in his past three starts, while Miami’s lineup owns a 24.4% strikeout rate against right-handers in the last 10 games. Since July 3, opposing starting pitchers have compiled at least 6 strikeouts seven times against the Marlins. Look for Lambert to keep up his strikeout numbers tonight against this struggling Marlins’ offense.
