Mandatory Credit: Peter Aiken-Imagn Images Minnesota United FC's Dayne St. Clair was named the 2025 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year on Monday.
The 28-year-old from Canada led the league with a 77.93 save percentage and set career highs in saves (113) and clean sheets (10) in 30 matches. He was the only MLS goalkeeper to finish with a goals-against average of 1.00 or lower and a save percentage about 75%.
St. Clair is the second MNUFC goalkeeper to win the award, joining Vito Mannone in 2019. He is also the second Canadian to win, joining the San Jose Earthquakes' Pat Onstad in 2003 and 2005.
The award was voted on by MLS club technical staff, media and current players. St. Clair received 29.4% of the overall vote to beat fellow finalists Matt Freese of New York City FC (17.32%) and the Vancouver Whitecaps' Yohei Takaoka (15.49%).
St. Clair made his debut with the Loons in 2020 and has recorded 37 clean sheets in 135 starts. He was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft out of Maryland.
He has also earned 13 caps with Canada since the start of 2024, building a case as a potential No. 1 option for the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
