Mudbugs vs. Ice Rays Is The Greatest Rivalry In Sports
If you've ever seen two hockey teams more itching to fight than the two squads in this video, well … find that video and send it to us.
This donnybrook took place last month, between the Corpus Christi Ice Rays and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (that's right) of the Central Hockey League, and it is simultaneously the best and worst hockey fight of the year. (Or last year?) It starts with a goalie getting hunted down without mercy behind the net and ends with players coming off the bench to mix it up. Of course, they come off the bench to sucker punch guys who have already been fighting and the goalie fight is more like a dance between two reluctant sixth-graders, but I guess you can't have everything.
What saves it for me, is the announcer who is apparently auditioning to be Joe Rogan's broadcast partner for the next UFC pay-per-view. He could not be more thrilled with the proceedings, but keep in mind that his day job is watching minor league hockey in Northwest Louisiana. A man's got to know his limitations.

P.S. This the Ice Rays mascot. Your move, Nightmare Ant.
