Myles Brand Makes Himself Richer
This image was lost some time after publication. The Wizard Of Odds brings us a little bit of info we hadn't heard about: NCAA president Myles Brand made $870,000 in compensation last year. That's a figure that's higher than what a single public university president makes. And they actually pay the people who make them all their money.
He's hardly alone, too; according to The Chronicle Of Higher Education, eight other NCAA executives make $250 grand or more.
We couldn't possibly be more thrilled about the NCAA tournament next week; the four-day stretch starting Thursday might very well be our favorite days of the year. But let's not kid ourselves; our viewership of the games is putting money in the pockets in just about every person involved except the people we're actually rooting for.
Nice painting of Brand, though. Why do we have a feeling he commissioned it himself?
