Nate Diaz Got Into Another Fight In The Stands
credits: Ed Mulholland | source: Getty UFC folk hero Nate Diaz hasn’t fought in the octagon since dropping a majority decision to bus saboteur Conor McGregor in August 2016, though he hasn’t spent his long layoff entirely away from fighting. The Stocktonian showed up to a UFC event in February and smoked a joint, and last month, he got into it with Clay Guida and his crew at a Combate Americas event in Sacramento. Diaz seems to enjoy getting into brawls at minor-league martial arts events around Northern California: He also fought some poor sucker in the crowd at jiu-jitsu competition Fight to Win Pro 77 this weekend.
Diaz runs a jiu-jitsu academy in Lodi, and he was apparently at the event to support some of his fighters. According to attendees, a “ shit-talking fan” of some variety was heckling the Diaz entourage, which prompted the melee.
TMZ reports that nobody was arrested in the ruckus. Diaz is reportedly in talks to return to the UFC in August, and it would be nice if he fought another actual fighter for a change.
