The fine concerns the Knicks' failure to "accurately disclose" the status of 7-footer Mitchell Robinson ahead of their meeting with the Toronto Raptors on March 27. The Knicks listed Robinson as out on their initial injury report and he went on to appear in the game.
The 145-101 win over the Raptors marked Robinson's return from a 50-game absence due to an ankle injury. He played 12 minutes, scored eight points and pulled down two rebounds.
Robinson, 26, is averaging 5.7 points and 9.2 rebounds in 27 games (21 starts). He is in his sixth season with the Knicks, who selected him in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.
