NCAA Approves Unlimited Meals For College Athletes

Who says the NCAA is resistant to change? Today, the legislative council approved a rule change that will allow all Division I athletes unlimited meals and snacks.
Previously, scholarship athletes were allowed only three meals a day, which isn't always sufficient when you need 5,000 calories a day to maintain your playing weight, or when your practice and film sessions span an entire meal period at the dining hall. Walk-ons were just shit out of luck altogether.
Though this comes just weeks after UConn guard Shabazz Napier told reporters he's gone to bed hungry, this is just one of many incremental changes in the works as the NCAA kicks some pebbles to try and avoid a landslide.
