Nebraska tops another ranked foe, beats No. 16 Oregon

Mandatory Credit: Craig Strobeck-Imagn Images Brice Williams recorded 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Nebraska led most of the way while posting a 77-71 upset of No. 16 Oregon on Sunday evening in Big Ten play at Eugene, Ore.
Juwan Gary added 23 points to help the Cornhuskers (14-8, 4-7) win their second straight game following a six-game slide. Rollie Worster added 11 points for Nebraska.
Jackson Shelstad scored 16 points and Brandon Angel added 15 for slumping Oregon (16-7, 5-6), which lost its third straight game and fourth in its last five. TJ Bamba had 13 points and four steals.
Nebraska led for 38:01 in its second straight upset of a ranked team. The Cornhuskers notched an 80-74 home overtime win over No. 18 Illinois on Thursday.
The Cornhuskers shot 51 percent from the field despite being just 4 of 23 from 3-point range.
Oregon made 40 percent of its attempts and was just 5 of 20 from behind the arc.
Nebraska received baskets from Gary, Andrew Morgan and Williams to take a 52-41 advantage with 10:18 left in the game.
Oregon then made a move and Shelstad drained two 3-pointers as the Ducks crept within 58-53 with 6:04 to play.
The Cornhuskers answered as Gary knocked down a 3-pointer and Williams made two free throws to push the lead back to 10 with 4:16 remaining.
The Ducks made another strong push and moved within 70-66 on Bamba's 3-point play with 56.2 seconds left. However, Gary and Williams each made two free throws to push Nebraska's margin to eight with 38.9 seconds to play and the Cornhuskers finished it out.
Williams scored 12 first-half points as Nebraska led 34-28 at the break. Bamba scored nine in the half for the Ducks.
The Cornhuskers led 12-4 just 6 1/2 minutes into the game and increased it to 23-14 on Gary's basket with 7:44 remaining in the half.
After Bamba converted a three-point play, Nebraska rattled off nine straight points. Williams capped it with a dunk to make it 32-17 with 4:53 remaining.
Oregon got back into the game with 11 straight points, culminated by Jadrian Tracey's trey with 1:29 left.
