New Maryland Uniforms Are Inscribed With The Star-Spangled Banner
Every other college football team can go ahead and stop trying to be the most American, because the University of Maryland has unveiled a new set of helmets and uniforms that are pure America.
The Terps will be wearing these patriotic joints, which are emblazoned with the lyrics of our national anthem, on Saturday when they host West Virginia. There's more: Each player's name will be replaced by the word "TRIUMPH" on the back of his jersey, and the team captains will wear red belts as an homage to the belts worn by American military captains during the Battle of Baltimore. They will also have this on their pants:
Hey, football, you are silly.
