New Yankee Stadium Determined To Rid Itself Of That Offensive "Hallowed Ground" Moniker
For those worried that the new Yankee Stadium scheduled to open next season will undermine the legacy of its storied predecessor, well, you're probably right. It appears the shiny new Bronx ballpark is poised to be more mallpark than ballpark, given some of the amenities it will have inside. Like, you know, a Hard Rock Cafe:
Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment has inked a long-term deal with the New York Yankees to open two restaurants in the new Yankee Stadium.
The Orlando-based company will open a 7,000-square-foot Hard Rock Cafe in right field at the stadium that will open in April 2009. The restaurant will seat 210 guests and operate year-round.
Right above the Hard Rock? A 128-seat steakhouse named "NYY Steak." In 2010, expect the new Yankee Stadium to rent out space to Dean & Deluca, Trader Joe's, and maybe even a Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
