NFL Week Thirteen, Update #1
• This one... I do not understand. The Lions have walked onto the shiny new FieldTurf surface and are leading the Patriots 10-3. It's been the Mike Furrey show, as he has six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. The Bill Belichick genius has been effective to this point in his career, but the one thing he can't account for... is Mike Furrey. (It's 10-10 now, which makes a little more sense.)
• I saw the 31-0 score, and was a little bit surprised to see just one Favre interception. The Packers are even running the ball... it's the Green Bay pass defense that's responsible for this week's masterpiece, as Chad Pennington is 22-of-29 for 241 yards and 2 TDs at halftime. Jericho Cotchery has 8 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown, too.
• The good news for the Cardinals is that they finally manufactured a rushing touchdown. The bad news for Edgerrin James is that it was Marcel Shipp who scored. And oddly enough, it came on a day when Edgerrin James is actually being halway productive. He's carried 10 times for 50 yards. Matt Leinart's been on fire, too, completing 11-of-15 for 118 yards and a TD. It been just over a month, but it seems like a looong time ago that the Rams were considered a good team. Buzzsaw leads, 17-3.
