Nick Swisher Tagged Out On Ball That Rolls Fair While He's Not Looking
In the eighth inning of a 2-2 game, the Tigers were gifted an out when Nick Swisher turned his back on a rolling foul ball. Tigers catcher Brayan Pena let the ball roll until it went fair, picked it up and rushed back to the plate to tag out the confused Swisher.
Swish may be the headliner with name recognition and that 69-watt smile but look at the sheer excitement on Pena's face when he realizes he's going to tag Swisher out on one of the great gotcha moves in baseball that almost never works. He beat Swisher at his own just-enjoying-game game.
As of this posting the game is still tied at two, in the 10th inning.
