Nifty Little Conor Sheary Goal Gives Penguins 2-0 Finals Lead
Photo via [object Object] The Penguins took a 2-1 overtime win tonight over the San Jose Sharks to hold serve at home and win both games in Pittsburgh. The first half of the game was a scoreless, tense affair that featured a photographer dropping their lens onto the ice and having it batted around like the puck for a second.
Phil Kessel scored in the second period after San Jose made a series of mistakes in front of their net, and Pittsburgh’s lead held until Justin Braun scored late in the third. Early in overtime, Conor Sheary found himself in the middle of the ice with the puck and he fired a deflected shot into the corner.
Mario Lemieux was quite pleased.
San Jose hosts a now-crucial Game 3 on Saturday, and they’ll need to be as good at home as Pittsburgh was to make this a series.
