Odalis Perez Has A Uniquely Hittable Pitch

Longtime readers will be well aware of our affection for Royals pitcher Odalis Perez, the only guy brave enough to admit that he could give two craps about charity and helping out kids, and only wants to get his. To remind, from last year:

[Perez] stopped his O's 45's program, in which he bought 45 tickets for inner-city school children to attend his starts, after losing his starting job. He said he would not reinstate the program now that he is starting again because he felt he never got enough credit from the club or the public for his charitable contributions. "When you spend your own money you want to be recognized for that," Perez said. "I don't want to be a hero, but just pay more attention to what I'm doing. People don't want to give me the recognition for it."

Awesome. Anyway, the above video, from The Buried Lead, shows a Perez pitch from the other night that is unlike any we've ever seen. It's a fastball that absolutely does not spin. We wouldn't have thought this possible; we don't think you could do this on purpose, no matter how hard you tried. Take that, stupid gyroball.
