Officials Correctly Wave Off Melo's Game-Tying Three; Knicks Lose
Carmelo Anthony's potential game-winning four-point play at the end of tonight's Rockets-Knicks game was waved off after official Scott Foster ruled that James Harden had committed the foul before Anthony shot.
Knicks fans were of course furious, but it was the correct call. The replay shows Harden fouling Anthony as Anthony's trying to gain possession, which is why Foster blew his whistle. Harden quickly fouls Anthony again as Anthony flings a shot up, but that was superfluous. There was no continuation. On the slow-mo replay, Foster immediately leaves his spot to call the original foul as the second occurs.
The Knicks lost, 109-106.
