Image via [object Object] Ohio State running back Bri’onte Dunn was dismissed from the team on Monday for an unspecified violation of team rules. According to a report today from the , Dunn’s dismissal followed a 911 call Sunday from his girlfriend in which she told a dispatcher that Dunn hit her in the face and choked her.
Here is how the Dispatch described the call:
Sunday afternoon, the woman, crying uncontrollably, called 911 to say: “My boyfriend hit me really bad.”
The woman said that the man struck her in the mouth and then briefly left her apartment on the Northwest Side. She said she left the apartment and came back, and when he saw she had her phone out “he went crazy.” She said he then choked her and left.
“My lip is bleeding and I have a black eye,” the woman said.
The woman has filed for a civil protection order against Dunn, but so far no criminal charges have been filed, per the Dispatch.
Dunn is a senior, and he was listed as the second running on the team’s depth chart last year. He was apparently supposed to compete with freshman Mike Weber for the starting job this year.
