The seventh-round pick heading from Arizona to Edmonton originally belonged to the Boston Bruins.
Stecher, who turns 30 on April 7, was dealt ahead of the NHL trade deadline for the third season in a row. He was traded from the Detroit Red Wings to the Los Angeles Kings in 2022 and from the Coyotes to the Calgary Flames in 2023. He returned to Arizona last summer on a one-year contract.
Stecher had one goal and four assists over 47 games with Arizona this season. He has averaged 18:26 of time on ice this season, his highest season average since 2018-19 with the Vancouver Canucks.
In 487 career games across eight seasons for five teams, Stecher has put up 108 points (19 goals, 89 assists), with 550 blocked shots and 510 hits.
