Oilers pull away late, down Jackets for 14th straight win

The game was tied 1-1 before Kane and Connor McDavid scored goals 55 seconds apart early in the third period. Dylan Holloway sealed Edmonton's latest triumph when he scored with 4:24 left in regulation.
Stuart Skinner made 27 saves to earn his 11th straight victory, passing Grant Fuhr for the longest goalie winning streak in franchise history. Skinner is 18-2-0 in his past 20 starts.
Edmonton improved to 22-3-0 since starting the season 5-12-1. The Oilers have allowed two goals or less in 12 consecutive games.
Dmitri Voronkov had the lone Blue Jackets goal, and Elvis Merzlikins stopped 20 shots. Columbus is 3-6-4 over its past 13 games and has just one win in its past six outings (1-4-1).
Kane gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead, jamming home the rebound off Foegele's shot for his 15th of the season at 4:53 of the third.
Edmonton took a two-goal lead when McDavid beat Merzlikins at 5:48 of the third for his 17th of the season. The Oilers captain has nine goals and 20 assists in 15 career games against the Blue Jackets.
Holloway tapped in the rebound off Connor Brown's shot for his second of the season.
The teams were tied 1-1 after 20 minutes.
Foegele opened the scoring on a power play when Kane's pass directed off his skate and past Merzlikins for his 10th of the season at 7:30 of the first period.
Edmonton has 53 first period goals this season, which ranks second behind only the Vancouver Canucks' 62.
Voronkov tied it 1-1, finishing a give-and-go with Kent Johnson for his 10th of the season at 15:25 of the opening period.
The Tuesday game was the first of two meetings between the clubs. Edmonton visits Columbus on March 7 to conclude the season series.
